Cisco new campus inaguaration

Day 1: Visit of Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam (Former President of India) and John Chambers (CEO, Cisco Systems)

Dr. Kalam’s address to cisco’s employees can be seen here

Before Dr. Kalam’s speech, John was addressing us and we could see a live demo of 3-D telepresence (it was my first time…heard a lot abt it since I joined Cisco) . The only bad thing is that we could not be present in the auditorium physically but were only watching it in our IPTV’s in our cubicles 🙁 .

Day 2: All-hands meeting with John Chambers

We had an all-hands meeting with John Chambers at KTPO, Whitefield. It was my first all-hands meeting and it was nice to see John addressing us and answering the employee’s questions.

Day 3: Cisco Career day and family day, Bollywood night (performance by sonu nigam, etc)

On the last day we had career day and family day wherein we can get our friends and family to show the campus. Also we had many events n lots of gifts as well. Managed to grab many free gifts and also won second prize in the mind games event 🙂 .

In the evening we had the sonu nigam show…it was really gr88…and tht was the end of the 3 day celebrations

The conclusion is we had lots of fun for 3 days n many free gifts, t-shirts, etc

No smoking movie

Looking at the trailers I decided that I must watch the movie. So, even though the reviews were not tht encouraging I booked a ticket for the evening show on a week day. It was raining heavily in blore but somehow managed to reach the theatre on time…..thts my dedication for movies 🙂 😉 .

Now coming to the movie, it was not tht bad as the reviews were projecting. For the whole 2.5 hrs we will never feel bored. But one thing is true abt the movie…its really really confusing…..at one point we dont understand what’s actually happening. We won’t be able to make out whethere john abraham is in a dream or if its reality.

Briefly looking at the story it goes this way…john abraham is a chain smoker n his wife cum secretary ayesha takia wants him to quit smoking. She comes across john’s old friend abbas who could successfully quit smoking by going to a place called prayogshala…and this guy takes an appointment for john as well. Now john under immense pressure of his wife goes to prayogshala to meet baba bengali and ends up signing a contract with him. From then the way things turn out is quite interesting n confusing 🙂 and the audience would be confused if john is in a dream or reality.

The end is tht john quits smoking ultimately. What I understand about the movie is (now everyone would have their own opinion here…..as I said earlier its quite confusing) tht its john’s antharathma (soul) tht undergoes all the agony and not john himself except his fingers being cut (to understand all this u will have to watch the movie for sure). So, I guess the point tht the director wants to make is to make ppl realize wht our soul goes through when we smoke.

Anyways I liked the acting of john n paresh rawal. I think paresh rawal has done a great job….this guy fits in any kind of role be it a comedy role in hera pheri or a serious one as in this movie.

And finally this is just my opinion abt the movie and comments are welcome 🙂

Trip to ooty

Had been to ooty this weekend. This was not the first time I went there. Last time I went to ooty was when I was in b.tech third year. That was real fun then. This time also I stayed in the same place where we stayed 3 years back. I even had dinner n breakfast in the same restaurants where we had before. It was really good recollecting the past memories.

Went to the lake, doddabetta peak n botanical gardens. It was a nice short trip for 2 days taking a break from the routine life in blore. Will be uploading the photos soon…

Happy Days movie

After a long time I feel that I have seen a gud telugu movie. Continuing with his trend of making movies on light subjects, shekhar kammula takes you through the entire four years of btech life in the movie. Its really amazing that he could pack the whole four years of engineering life into 3 hrs of movie without missing out anything. Everyone of us can identify ourselves at some or the other part of the movie. It depicts almost the same stuff which we had been through in our btech days, be it the ragging, internals, externals, attraction towards girls 😀 (sravanthi or sravs in the movie is like DR…hope my btech classmates still remember 🙂 ) , roaming around with friends n lots of other things tht can’t be revealed here 😉 .

On the whole the movie is worth watching n will definitely make you nostalgic. I hope shekhar kammula would come up with more of such gud movies. I would definitely give 10/10 for the movie. And the conclusion is those were really the happy days of my life.

Nice one

It was autumn, and the Red Indians asked their New Chief if the winter was going to be cold or mild. Since he was a Red Indian chief in a modern society, he couldn’t tell what the weather was going to be. Nevertheless, to be on the safe side, he replied to his Tribe that the winter was indeed going to be cold and that the members of the village should collect wood to be prepared. But also being a practical leader, after several days he got an idea. He went to the phone booth, called the National Weather Service and asked “Is the coming winter going to be cold?” “It looks like this winter is Going to be quite cold indeed,” the meteorologist at the weather service Responded.

So the Chief went back to his people and told them to collect even more Wood. A week later, he called the National Weather Service again. “Is it going to be a very cold winter?” “Yes,” the man at National Weather Service again replied, “It’s definitely going to be a very cold winter.”

The Chief again went back to his people and ordered them to collect every scrap of wood they could find. Two weeks later, he called the National Weather Service again. “Are you absolutely sure that the winter is going to be very cold?” “Absolutely,” The Man replied. “It’s going to be one of the coldest winters ever.”

“How can you be so sure?” the Chief asked. The weatherman replied, “The Red Indians are collecting wood like Crazy.”
